Im getting a 454 for my truck and dont know much about them. how much cam lift can a stocker take?

About all the cam you want in a stock 454 is a Edelbrock performer and intake as a stock motor only has about a 7.8 comp. ratio.If you can find a set of 396 closed chamber heads then use the performer RPM setup and hang on.

I decided against the 454 after thinking it over. The 454 would have been a cool motor but the truck is set up complete for a small block as far as I have doug thorley headers and dual 2 1/2 exhuast so I decided to keep it simple and stupid.
