I have a problem... it has been plagueing me for over 2 years now, heres the story. I had a 1985( ish ) Chrysler lebaron, It had a shitty body but ran quite nicely, i was able to come by a Lebaron with a cherry body, and interior, the only probelm is, the plug on the firewall for the wiring loom isn't the same, i found a loom that would fit the plug on the fire wall, but now it won't fit with the computer that i have in the car.( and i already got rid of the old body, and its computer ) Its the right style of plug, but there is 1 guide pin difference, What im wondering, if I just cut off that guide pin, is anything drastic going to happen? If i could make this a running car I would be extremly happy. Thanks- Bo

I would start with a wiring diagram from both vehicles to see what the differences are... and what the wire goes to

Sounds like you are asking for problems if you cut the pin. Do what Erronisme said, you could easily have a electrical melt down and blow your ECM.

Gah.. sorry.. To clarify, The wiring harness, the main wire harness is what im dealing with. There are 0 differences in the 2 cars, exactly the same... Same year, same make, same model, One has a plug on the firewall, the other doesn't thats the only difference. Its not a pin, its just a piece of plastic on the outside of the plug, and its 1/2 an inch the wrong direction to match up with the computer.

I hate to say it but if they are the same year and model then why did dodge change that part between the cars? Like we said, if you want to avoid a very costly mistake get a wiring schemo on the cars and make sure the wire color codes match. But hay it is your ride, do what you want.

We build vehicles where i work. We have 19 different wire harnesses for 1 body style.
