Use a test light and pull the wire off the sender and you should have voltage at the wire (blinking) if you do have voltage then your sender is bad , when you do this the gauge will read full and if you don't have a test light then ground the wire and your gauge will read full ,if you don't have voltage then you need to check at the gauge for voltage. If you have voltage to one side and not the other then your gauge is faulty,if there is no voltage then go to the power source.
