I got this, and I couldn't tell how big the opening was, it looked alot bigger, it was to go on my carb, but it is almost the size of the top of a coke can the inside measures around 1 1/4 inch across. I wonder if they make an adapter, or would there be a restriction of air flow.

If thats only steel mesh in there, I would think it's for a boat.
Boats don't need air filters really ,because there's no dust on the water. Boats just have a flame / backfire blocker that looks like an air filter like what you have there.
