I recently bought what I thought was a 350 but after running the serial numbers on the block and heads it turns out its a 302! I might drop it my luv or in my bel air or sell it, if its worth enough.

Put it in your LUV you will like it. I had a 283 4spd in my LUV when i first built it and other then i had side pipes no one could tell. With the high reving motor it was allot of fun to drive and it was easy on gas. Because the 302 has no torq down low it would be perfect for the GM 14# flywheel and a t-5 trans and it can run with the big dogs and still get great gas milage.

the same numbers have been used on 283-350. check the bore and stroke if it is a 302 you can build 2 luvs for what some would give you for it. that is a hell of a find

I already took it apart and ran the serial numbers so Im sure its a 302. Whats great is I only paid $75 for the engine, but it's missing the original intake though.

Is it an MO stamped block?
Is the block an 3914678 casting?
Is this a shortblock?
Large or Small rod journals on the crank?
If you have the crank, give me the crank #.

Ill give you a value after that!

The engine looks to not have had any machining done to it other than factory. But it is very greasy so Im dropping off the parts at the machine shop monday to get all cleaned up.

well, IF it's a real one, make sure you trust your machine shop!

Otherwise it just may disappear!

Seen it happen a few times myself!

if it is really a 69 dz302 block, then i dont think you fully understand how much its worth.

did it have a steel crank in it?
