Ok, saw this documentarty that discussed the turbine engine- like in a helicopter. they said that a small turbine engine could get 150 mpg and could see power ranges of 1000-1500 hp easily. all in a compartment the size of a suitcase.

Chrysler came out with one in the 50's or 60's, and i think they lobbied with the oil companies to end the program. Funny how there are all these viable options to get better economy, or even hydro, but naturally they are "too far out". money hungry Douche' bags.

just wanted to vent..........

thanx, later guys 8)

Owww

I think

I hurt

my scrolling finger.

Seriously though, automotive tech seems a lot like PC technology. We're still fighting with problems that root back to the 1980 IBM PC because they have a hard time moving forward. Sure we could have better engines, but then they'd have to reconfigure the rest of the drivetrain, "user inputs" (pedals, etc), and figure out how to fit a rumbling exhaust on to it so it sounds cool. Not to mention it would need a rear wing, it is a turbine after all...

the fuel thing has gone the same way as the medical industry. not to get philisophical, but we know they can run cars on hydrogen. and theres plenty of it. and they know some day they will have to do it. all these stories of "10 years" to switch over is crap. say the word and there will be a rush to be a distributor and production will begin.

they have a cure for aids. people goto mexico and drink the 'syrum' all the time. Magic Johnson ('tragic johnson") is now hiv free. whats the last rockstar or movie star to catch aids. freddy Mercury. all these people having their cake then go down there and get fixed up. there is no FDA approval needed, so the rich people just fork it over.

Cancer, my aunt had it on her face. Went to mexico, paid, and its GONE. I hope this puts the 'wonderful' medical community in perspective. they dont want to cure us, it would cost them their jobs. there are a number of illnesses that could be stamed out, ive read about it, but then no patients= no income. Same thing with 150 mpg cars, produce something like that and the oil companies will take too large a hit.

*applause*

Hehe, the oil companies might lose out, but the muffler companies would make up for it. Them turbines are LOUD!
