Good job. That S10 has a little more room for that sbc too compared to a LUV.

yeah its not too bad on space. the driverside exhaust manifold almost touches the steering shaft, but not quite. when he gets a set of headers for it the clearance problems go away.

man this thing is soo much fun to drive. with the 308 gearing it just cruises, but when it kicks down into 2nd it just strait scoots. the motor is finally getting broke in all the way so it seems like its got more power everytime i drive it.

im gonna be takin it to the track on the 25th of this month for some street legal drags. with the way this thing pegs the 85mph speedo i wouldnt doubt that it gets into the 100mph club by the end of the year.

well we have reason to believe that the cam went flat in it. its got a nasty miss and the oil that was just changed is all black and gritty.

so im guessin that since the cam took a shit the motor as a whole is toast with all that cam material in the bearings.

were gonna pull the valve covers and drain the oil in the morning to see what else is wrong.

the thing that really ticks me off is, the motor only has like 1100miles on it. i guess you get what you pay for these days. damn 100dollar compcam...

well well well. took the valve covers off of it this morning to find the screw in stud that was put in, was broken. dont know what happend with it either. so we went to the machinist and he gave us another stud to put in it.

i dont think the cam is flat now either. i dont know about the oil though. when i dip my finger in it, it looks clean. it does have a slight metalic tint to it though.

another thing thats concerning me is the oil pressure has gone up. at idle it use to have 25-30psi and now its at 45-50psi at idle.

so i dont know what the hell is goin on with this thing.

oh, heres some pics of the broken stud.

Remember oil psi is higher when the eng. is cold. Are your 2 readings at about the same eng. temp.?

How many times did you change the oil when you first got it running? I change the oil after start up a min. of three times before it go's out the door and it still has a fine metal sheen to it.( race motors get four changes min.) You could be sticking the oil pump relief valve with the metal particles.
