Well, I posted back at the end of January about my '82 'Yota 4X4- lifted, 36" tires, 22R, rusted all to Hell, solid frame. I finally got the little beast home Friday.

It took 3 hours & a chainsaw, but we managed to drag it out from where the scrap hauler had put it- & then promptly surrounded it w/ junk metal.

Sunday I put a battery in it, checked the fluids, cut the fuel line so it didn't suck up the ancient fuel outta the tank, & turned the key. It spun over OK, so I poured a little unleaded down the carb & she fired up.

Today I ran a fuel line into a gas can & the little truck started up & idled pretty well- esp considering it hadn't been started in who knows how long.

I'm trying to track down some 16.5" 6 lug wheels for it so I can get me a set of the military H1 36X12.50 tires.

Initial plans are to clean the tank, fix the brakes, & then see what she'll do as far as moving on her own. I did crank it w/o pushing in the clutch & it did move, so the clutch should be OK. Beyond that, I'm not sure what I'll do. It has to have a new body........ anyone in South Texas got a LUV shortbed body they wanna part with dirt cheap?? :D

Turns out the tank was junk. Stuck a boat fuel tank in the bed, cleared the lines, replaced the fuel filter, & she started right up & ran. Drove it around the place, locked the hubs & put it in 4H & 4L- both work. Needs driveshaft U-joints replaced, brake work, & plenty of other little stuff, but it runs & drives down the road. Here's a couple new pics from Saturday:

looks like a mud slinger to me.those are tuff little trucks i had one with 38/18.5 ground hoggs on it and it would eat a mud hole all to shit that little 22r would turn 7grand and it was bone stock just hold her on the floor and she would move as long as the tires were on the ground. i should have never sold that truck to my buddie.he still has the little beast with 375000 miles on it and he still runs the hell out of it.
