Well, I've successfully encountered ford patterned baldness on my LTD, it's acurring around my rear tires. My RR tire has contracted it and now only has maybe 1/32 or 2/32 of tread left....

What brand of tires would ya'll recomend for my situation (18 yr old that has a too good of a time on the road.) or at least some that don't burn as easily.

pictures will come later...

If your just gonna spin them away, I'd buy the cheapest you can find. Maybe even go with used tires.

i used to do the burn out thing all the time in high school... back then i had 33" mudders on the LUV with a 600HP aluminum rod SBC. then i lowered the truck down and got into street racing... where "If you're spinnin' you ain't winnin'!!!"

now the only burnout I do is 5 seconds in the burnout box before each pass. Yes I am getting to be an old fart.

Just try to avoid recaps, those caps like to come off when you cook em off real good. Don't ask me how I know....

http://www.craigslist.com and look for city in your area. I see a lot of tires/wheels show up there cheap or free. You might also check with junkyards in your area. There is one yard I go to that has a huge pile of tires/wheels for $5 a piece.

I'm expecting to get new ones, after I put wider wheels on the back and put my two free vette' mufflers on (with true duals of course), gotta do some nick-nack stuff to it now, carb's leaking a bit of gas, need to take some more trans fluid out. BTW, the whole loss of power deal was just the vac. advance wasn't getting vaccum cause of a thermal valve, bypassed it and now it runs GREAT, no misses like it used to. Need to change my rear axle oil too, put new batt. cables on w/ a new batt., fix my p/s leak, new valve cover gaskets, minor stuffs.

I don't have any place locally that does recaps, I know a guy that used to though... my g/f's dad roasted a set in front of his shop in his 67' galaxie (with a 390  ) cause he didn't beleive that he was peeling off the tread after only 1500 miles, gave him the best cap he had and bet him $20 and a new set of tires he couldn't pop em', he's still got that set of tires on the car.

Kinda reminds me of when I was in high school. I had a 70 el camino with a pretty decent 350. I went through tires like people change socks. One trick I learned was that if I had the stereo up to a moderately loud volume I couldnt hear the motor. If I didnt have the radio on or not loud enough to cover up the sound of my motor it was full throttle I think I just liked the way it sounded or something. so try that it worked for me especially when gas jumped up 1.40 a gallon thats when I put in a bigger stereo system.
