My concern is are luvs so light that if the horse power is there will anything save you....... My best e.t. was a 12.6 but when i shift to second they spin. But hey i guess if you can run that and spin em' it aint too bad. What now honda lovers :D

There are a few trucks running faster and hooking dead up while still using the leaf springs. Check out a few of the fast LUV's and see how they do it. Mike Seiki's truck comes to mind. Running 10's with leaf spings and no tubbing, pulling the front tires.

That is amazing. That is really something to be pround of. Man my truck is slow compared to that. Well i think maybe some new slicks will help me because i have some circle track slicks on it from my brothers race car.

a properly set-up LUV truck should get into the low 9's on a leaf spring suspension and 28x10 slick before needing a tub. Thats with little to no extra ballast in the bed area either.

Its all about the weight transfer and planting the rear tires.... and ditch the circle track slicks.

So you ran 9.80's at 133 with a stock LUV rear axle? And your "stock" rear axle has 4.30 gears, moser spool and 35 spline axles?

Stickey tires make all the difference, just plant em good and you wont spin. Just be ready to break parts! lol

I've never broke a stocker LUV rear end ever. they hold up to some HP and abuse IMO. I beat the crap out of them too. same with the Toyota rear.

Nissan, sheeeit, the first month with a snappy shift kit made the gears come flying out in little pieces, making some nice dents in the bed
