A week before christmas, my ford contour (dailey driver)
got hit from a guy in my own neighborhood. He offered to pay for it, and wanted do it outside the insurance company. I had my dad come down and look at the my car, and we thought the damage wasn't the bad.

Basicly the rear passangerr door had a dent the size of a baseball, and the wheel well of above the rear tire was slightly dented. A week after christmas I take the car to a local body shop. The rough estimate was
about $2000. I am not supriesed the cost with all the new parts they have to put on.

So the guy that hit me, wanted to try another bodyman. This bodyman, turned out was a mobil guy, and the mobil guy said that the job was too advanced for him. So the dude that hit me says He'll find some other shop nearby. Well its been over 2 months now, and the guy hasn't followed through.

What type of options do I have? Can I still go through my insurnace compnay (AAA), or take the guy to small claims court?
Your help would be much appreciated.

Well, the good news is that I went to my local junkyard where they have 50% off and got a door the same color with minor scrathes for
$30 bucks!

I may just snap a picture of my car door and mail it to that guy
with the words Thanks for nothing!
lol

If you can contact him, remind him your still waiting and thinking of going to AAA. In other words give him 1 more chance and tell him you found a door for $30 so he owes for the other dent and the $30. That should please him.If he flakes on you again, go see the man in the office. :D

tell him its $2000 to get it repaired at the place that YOU want it repaired at. if he doesnt like that then ask him for his insurance info. its not up to him. he has very little room to wiggle on this... he hit you. You are not obligated to take the time to shop around for the best deal just for his benefit. just my .02
