hello members,
been having a friend finish off a conversion from a drag truck to a street legal version, after reinstalling numerous parts back to a 350 block, the transmission or back of block squeals , it comes and goes in small increaments, and does not appear to be associate with engine rpm, the right side header is a two piece and the only thing i can figure is that the flexplate got cracked or since exhaust isnt bolted tight yet, that the one piece is loose in the collector system, any other ideas, unfortunatel i only get to the shop every day during lunch and cant personally hold their hand!!!!

do you have a tourque converter shield on it ?? if so it may be touching the flex plate.. I dought the header is the culprit

you might also check the clearance between the flexplate and starter make sure the starter gear disengauges all the way

thanks for info....still waiting for the exhaust to get buttoned up so we can hear a little more clearly, the daughter (9 yo ) finally sat in it and hit the starter button, biggest grin i have seen from her in a long time.....

funny thing happened to us while we were there, happens two boys have been checking out the truck and they mentioned that their dad had been building one in back yard, buddy got the number, called when i got home and was by there in 1/2 hour, there were 2 , an early model and an 80 model, $200 a piece , now i just have to find out how much to get them towed out of the yard with the beds full of luv parts and other junk....

will keep informed and post pics once i figuere that out
