I've got a 99 Subaru Legacy Sedan. I think the headgasket blew, as I have bubbles in the resivor for my radiator, and it keeps using water.
My local mechanic does imports (mainly Hondas & Toyotas), but he says its 12 hour job. Plus having the head/s machined. I dont have a manuel and I can't tell if I have a single or dual over-head cam. That would make a big difference in the amount of labor needed.
I tired google searching my car for specs, but I it says that my model has a 2.2 liter.
Though the hood says its a 2.5 liter.
Two question: Do I have single or dual over-head cam
How many hours of labor should a head gasket be?

I actually think the info in that article is either incomplete or inaccurate. It says
that third generation (my year included) has only SOHC for the 2.5 liter.
I've been told by 2 mehanics that 2.5 came with SOHC and DOHC.
I don't really care much for wiki. I should just break down and buy a manual.

I still would like to know for any mechanics (that have worked on Subarus),
how many hours are for pulling the motor and putting on a head gasket.
